GREEN, Ohio - Griffin Jenkins of Green High School is a three-sport athlete. He runs track, plays soccer and swims for the Bulldogs. He's also a lifeguard at the Green YMCA. His swimming skills were put to the test when he had to save a girl from drowning.
"It was just all adrenalin. I ran over and I looked down and she was at the bottom and I jumped in and just grabbed her and some other people helped me pull her out of the pool," explained Jenkins. "She was OK."
When Jenkins is not playing sports or saving lives, he's focusing on his academics, as a member of the National Honor Society maintaining a 4.2 GPA.
"Grades are pretty important to me because I know I can do well in school and not doing well wouldn't be enough," said Jenkins.
Jenkins has been accepted to Ohio State University in the fall. Congratulations Griffin Jenkins for being the McDonald's Student Athlete of the Week.
