UNIONTOWN, Ohio - Dropping the ball in the cup is senior Jake McBride of Uniontown Lake High School.
Jake is used to sinking shots because out of 124 amateurs and pros, he was one of eight that qualified for the second round of the U S Open at Beechmont Country Club during the summer of 2012.
According to Junior Golf Scoreboard, he's ranked the number one junior golfer in Ohio.
"He's definitely has a competitiveness that drives all those good athletes and those good sports who compete very well he wants to win and be the very best," said golf coach Thom Grubb.
With over a 4.0, Jake's grade point average is just as good as his golf scores.
"If golf doesn't work out you got to have something to fall back on. I think, academically, it's very important to work in school along with golf and try to shine there as well," said Jake.
Next year, Jake will be golfing for the Wolf Pack of North Caroline State.
