AVON LAKE, Ohio - It's track practice Avon Lake High School and senior football player Brett Bass is getting ready for the upcoming season.
During the football season, Brett was a defensive back and co-captain for the Shoreman football team. Brett will continue to play football for the University of Dayton in the fall. With a 4.2 GPA he also excels in the classroom.
"Football helps in academics and in life in general because it help you become a leader and help you work with others and pick up others when they are struggling," said Bass.
His success in the classroom and on the football field didn't go unnoticed.
"He's a two year starter in the defensive back field and that says a lot about his athletic ability and our defensive back field and our complex coverage it's says a lot about his intelligence," said assistant football and track coach Jeff Arra.
Congratulations Brett Bass, our McDonald's Student Athlete of the Week.
