AKRON, Ohio - Gliding through the water like a fish is Andrew Appleby of Cuyahoga Falls High School.
Andrew is the team captain of the swim team and he placed third in the 100 freestyle at the state championship this past season.
Andrew is also a good swim teacher. Every Tuesday and Thursday he and other volunteers give swim lessons to 30 kids at a local YMCA for the Make A Splash program. A program that Andrew organized.
"Make A Splash allow me to get involved with the community it allow me to integrate my love for helping people with my passion for swimming," said Andrew.
For his hard work he is the Point of Light national volunteer honoree. And he received recognition from Ohio Senator Rob Portman. Congratulations Andrew Appleby the McDonald's student athlete of the week.
