BEREA, Ohio - Are Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi feeling pressure? Last year these guys were rookies and took their lumps, especially Robiskie. The Ohio State alum was supposed to be the most polished receiver coming out of last year's draft. His season stats did not reflect that title. Robo caught all of seven balls. This year in camp, you've seen a lot more of Robiskie working with the first team offense. He made some impressive grabs Monday. You can see the confidence and all the athletic ability that made the Chagrin Falls grad special.
Meanwhile, Massaquoi was a lot more dependable in his rookie year. Thirty-four catches and three touchdowns may not make you a Pro-Bowl player, but it gives Massaquoi confidence he can play in this league.
The Browns made upgrades all over the roster. They were drafting and adding free agents all over the field, but the team mostly stood pat at the receiver position. Critics say this could be the weakest position on the team. I asked Massaquoi if he hear this criticism.
Massaquoi's response: "You hear it, but as a man you know how to work hard. You know how do things to put yourself in the position to get a little bit better. This offseason we got ourselves in the best shape to show we got a chance to come out here and be a little bit better."
These guys are just second-year players, but both know they'll need to be productive for the Browns to have success this season.
