BEREA, Oh - Day 8 of the Browns training came began at 8:45 a.m. Saturday with stretching until 9:30 a.m. when team drills begin.

The weather is expected to be hot again, much like it was Friday, although the heat didn’t seem to bother the Browns while performing in front of new owner Jimmy Haslam. Haslam is back at camp again Saturday morning.

Lost in the shuffle of the ownership change was the fact that quarterback Brandon Weeden had another strong practice while learning Pat Shurmur’s offense.

So far so good as far as health concerns for the Cleveland Browns. Perhaps the new NFL collective bargaining agreement has helped the Browns with the lack of injuries. The new labor deal agreed upon last year eliminated the traditional two a day practices where teams would dress in full pads for two contact practices. Under the new agreement, teams can only have one contact session and one walk through each day and must have a day off every fifth day.

We’ll be keeping our eye on the defense today
