CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Browns made the offensive a priority during the first two rounds of the draft, but were clearly not impressed with any of the wide receivers available. The Browns waited until the fourth round with pick number 100 before they chose a wide receiver, taking speedster Travis Benjamin out of Miami. In the third round, the Browns took defensive tackle John Hughes out of Cincinnati. Hughes was born in the Columbus area and playes his high school football at Gahanna Lincoln. Mike Holmgren told the media, he felt the "team improved with the picks made this year" He also went on to say,“We’d all like to see a big jump this year. That’s our hope. And we think that’s possible. We think that’s reasonable.”
The Browns Team President also said he did have talks with Indianapolis about the number one overall pick, but did say the talks "were brief". Here is a complete list of the Browns 2012 NFL Draft.
