BEREA, oh - The Browns were back to work this afternoon in Berea, getting ready for game two of the preseason in Green Bay.
The team went thru a two hour practice here today but the story was more about who wasn't on the field then who was. Fifteen players sat out practice including Ben Watson, Frostee Rucker, Jordan Cameron Phil Taylor, Dimitri Patterson and Mohamed Massaquoi. Scott Paxon and Trent Richardson were not here today along with Massaquoi.
Pat Shurmur did not have an update on any of the injured players only to say it was a challange to practice with so many guys out but also a chance for the younger players to take advantage of the absent players for more reps and a chance to make the team.
Josh Gordon spoke to the media for the first time since his catchless game on Friday against the Lions. Gordon struggled getting off the line against the Lions press coverage and said that is something he is working on. Gordon like Greg Little last year has been out of football and has made huge strides during rookie camp thru training camp.
Pat Shurmur on Gordon's development: " Well, I think he's a rookie in the NFL so he learns everything by doing it. He's an extremely talented guy, but he needs to do it and he needs to be inspired and motivated. His first game was a little bit like I might have expected."
The Browns will practice tomorrow morning from 8:45-11:15 and practice is open to the public.
