BEREA, OH - Sources have told NewsChannel 5 sports that the Browns will hire former San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner next week when he returns from a family vacation.

Turner cleaned out his San Diego office on Friday before heading out on a family vacation in Hawaii. Turner was fired after six seasons in San Diego last week after he led the Chargers to three first place finishes in the AFC West and three playoff appearances over his six seasons.

New Browns Coach Rob Chudzinski considers Turner one of his mentors, having worked with the 27 year coaching veteran in San Diego in 2009-2010 season. Turner's son Scott is also expected to be hired by Chudzinski. Scott Turner worked closely with Chudzinski in Carolina as the teams Offensive Quality Control Coach.

Norv Turner has been the head coach of three different teams over his 27 year career and is considered one of the leagues best offensive minds having worked as an Offensive Coordinator in Dallas,Miami,San Diego and San Francisco.
