Cleveland Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson is on the road to recovery.
The team released a statement today from head coach Pat Shurmur. .
“Trent Richardson underwent a successful routine arthroscopic procedure today on his left knee. It was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Fla. We anticipate that Trent will make a speedy recovery, and we are hopeful that he will be ready for our Week One game against Philadelphia.” Shurmur said in a new release.
The Browns will open the NFL preseason against the Detroit tomorrow night. Richardson had his knee cleaned out during the procedure. His did nor participate in the teams family night event at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Richardson was the third pick overall in last April's NFL draft.
