The Cleveland Browns today placed punter Dave Zastudil on injured reserve, the team announced. In addition, the club signed free agent tight end Joel Gamble.
Gamble was signed by the Browns as a free agent on July 19 and waived August 13. He spent the final four weeks of the 2009 season on the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad. He also spent time in 2009 with the DC Armor of the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) and has also seen action with the Tennessee Valley Vipers (2007), Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (2007) and Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings (2008) of arenafootball2 (af2).
A four-year letterman at Shippensburg University (2001-04), Gamble appeared in 43 games, recording 46 receptions for 631 yards with five touchdowns. Born on December 25, 1982, the 6-2, 260-pound Gamble is a native of Baltimore Md., where he attended Carver High School.
