CLEVELAND - NewsChannel5 has confirmed the Browns have signed defensive tackle Desmond Bryant. It is the Browns second big pick up in free agency after signing linebacker Paul Kreuger earlier in the day.
He is a big pick up for new Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton. The Browns are moving to a 3-4 attack defense.
He is was restricted free agent. Bryant made the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Harvard in 2009 and has appeared in 47 career games with 10 starts. He has five sacks and 35 tackles last season, both career highs. Bryant has spent time at DT and DE for the Raiders.
He got into a little trouble last month when he was picked up on a on a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief in Miami on February 24th. .
UPDATE: According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the deal with the Browns is for five years and $34 million.
