CLEVELAND - Robert Griffin III will not get the start Sunday against the Browns. The Redskins announced Sunday night that fellow rookie Kirk Cousins will get the nod.
Griffin suffered a sprained ACL late in the fourth quarter of the Redskins win over the Ravens last week. Cousins relieved Griffin and tossed a touchdown and ran in a two point conversion for the win. Griffin did practice this week but it was Cousins who received all of the first team reps.
Griffin tweeted Saturday night, the the decision not to play was not his but he will be with his team to support them in any way that he can.
