CLEVELAND - Rumors Browns Head Coach Pat Shurmur and General Manager Tom Heckert would be fired after Sunday's Cleveland-Pittsburgh matchup was all the talk at sports bars across Cleveland.
At the Winking Lizard, a popular sports bar in downtown Cleveland, plenty of people weighed in on whether or not they think the two should be fired.
"They haven't produced," said Mike Hatchadorian. "They haven't won many games so I think you got to move on and go with somebody new."
A good deal of the football fans agreed with Hatchadorian, saying it's time for a change and for different reasons.
"It's all personality, energy and I think he's been bad," said Elissa Havens of Browns head coach Pat Shurmur.
"They've got to find somebody that can utilize, do better play calling so that these guys can utilize their back and running game and their passing game and they're not doing that right now," said Tom Nagel.
His wife, Maryann Nagel, said, "Bottom line is, all we need is to win. If they're not doing their job, I could get fired if I wasn't doing my job so: out. Get them out of here!"
Those were the different frustrations shared by Browns fans as they watched Cleveland lose against Pittsburgh inside the Winking Lizard. Even if they weren't Browns fans, many still felt the two should be fired.
Bengals fan Chad Curtis said, "The Browns have been in a re-building phase since they brought Holmgren in as their GM. They need to out, outside the organization, find somebody who's football oriented to come in and actually run the team."
A Steelers fan looking for more competition out of the Browns said, "It would be good to see what they would try to bring up next year when we have a chance to face off."
But not all were for Shurmur and Heckert being fired. In fact, one customer said losing the pair would set the young team back.
That fan said, "They've consistently rotated head coaches, GMs over the last 13 years and I like what Tom Heckert's done over the last couple of years and I think they should put Weeden in shotgun a little bit more and stick with Pat Shurmur."
Nate Rumrill, a Vikings fan, said, "I think the coach should stay there and so should the general manager because they're having a good season."
The big question is: who would replace the head coach should Shurmur be fired?
"Anyone who can make us a winner. I'm tired of losing," was the answer John Yurik gave NewsChannel5.
Other football fans tossed around a few college names like Nick Saban, Chip Kelly and Bill O'Brien. Those who gave an answer for Shurmur, however, were stuck on who they would choose to replace Heckert. Most of the fans NewsChannel5 spoke with said they don't really want to see Heckert go.
