BEREA, Oh - The Cleveland Browns sweat and sometimes bleed on the field. Now the team is hoping you give some blood, for a good cause.
The Cleveland Browns are once again teaming up with the American Red Cross to host the 12th Annual Cleveland Browns Dr. Charles Drew Blood Drive. The blood drive is scheduled for Saturday, July 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Berea Recreation Center, located at 451 Front Street in Berea.
According to a news release from the Browns, all registered donors will receive two upper level tickets to a Browns preseason game in August 2012, while supplies last. All who come to donate will also receive a commemorative T-shirt (while supplies last) and the opportunity to win Browns memorabilia.
"The support of the Cleveland Browns comes at a critical time for the Northern Ohio Blood Services Region," said Christy Sabaka, Communications Manager. "Blood donations through the American Red Cross are at the lowest they have been in 15 years. There is an emergency need for donors this summer and these drives are vital in meeting that need."
All blood types are needed to ensure an adequate blood supply is available, however donors with type O negative, O positive, A negative or B negative are especially encouraged to give at this time.
The Cleveland Browns 12th Annual Dr. Charles Drew Blood Drive will be held at six sites in Northeast Ohio from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Locations include the Berea Recreation Center at 451 Front Street in Berea, the American Red Cross Wayne County Chapter, 244 West South Street, Wooster, the Hilton Garden Inn, 5251 Landmark Blvd., North Canton,
St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2860 East Market Street, Warren, Summit Donor Center, 501 West Market Street, Akron, and the Warzel Donor Center, 3636 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland.
