DETROIT - Can the MAC participate in the BCS? Most years that wouldn't be possible, but not in 2012.

With both Kent State and Northern Illinois ranked in the top 25, this could be the year that the Mid-American Conference defy logic and participate in a BCS bowl game.

During tonight's MAC Championship game at Ford Field in Detroit, representatives from the Orange in Miami were in attendance to check out both the Flashes and the Huskies. Kent State entered the MAC Championship game ranked 17th, Northern Illinois 16th. If the winner finishes ranked in the top 16, that team will receive an automatic invite to a BCS bowl.

While covering the MAC Championship game, Newschannel 5 sports director ANdy Baskin caught up with the representatives from the Orange bowl. Click on the video to hear what they had to say about inviting either the Flashes or Huskies to play in the orange bowl.
