VALPARAISO, Ind. - Matt Kenney scored 14 points to help Valparaiso beat Cleveland State 74-50 Friday night.
Will Bogan scored 13 points, and Ryan Broekhoff had 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Crusaders.
Valparaiso (11-5, 1-1 Horizon) led throughout the game and had a 35-18 edge at halftime.
Valparaiso shot 46 percent from the field for the game, while the Vikings shot 30 percent. Valparaiso outrebounded Cleveland State 43-27.
Luda Ndaye led the Vikings (8-7, 0-1) with 15 points, a career high. Bryn Forbes had 12. Marlin Mason had six points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Valparaiso plays University of Illinois-Chicago on Wednesday. Cleveland State hosts UIC on Monday.
