STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Ohio is favored to win the Mid-American Conference and go to a bowl for a fourth straight year. Coach Frank Solich knows none of that will matter much when his Bobcats open the season at Penn State on Sept. 1.

The game will be the first since Penn State was hit hard by NCAA sanctions for the cover-up of child sex abuse. Solich says there'll be a lot of "buzz" around the game "for negative reasons."

Coaches Mike London of Virginia and Ken Niumatalolo of Navy also face the Nittany Lions. They said they wouldn't be surprised to see a number of Penn State players transfer, though early indication is the current team should stay intact.

Both said they sympathize with first-year coach Bill O'Brien, who's trying to keep current players from defecting and recruit to a program banned from postseason play for four years.
