KENT, OH - Chris Evans netted 17 points and had nine rebounds as Kent State topped winless St. Francis (Pa.) 77-48 Thursday night.
Evans was 6 of 8 from the floor, and Kris Brewer was 3 of 3, including 2 of 2 from 3-point range, en route to 13 points for Kent State (6-5).
Earl Brown led the Red Flash (0-10) with 17 points, and Umar Shannon had 12.
St. Francis committed 18 turnovers, which the Golden Flashes converted into 29 points.
Kent State opened with a 23-1 run, and held St. Francis without a field goal for more than 10 minutes before the Red Flash's Ollie Jackson hit a layup.
The Red Flash shot 33.3 percent (16 of 48) from the field and hit 4 of 15 3-point tries, while Kent State hit 47.9 percent (23 of 48) of its shots, including 9 of 27 from beyond the arc.
