CLEVELAND,OH - Kent State head football coach Darrell Hazell was named the 2012 MAC Coach of the year today.Hazell in just his second year has orchestrated a dramatic turn around in the football program.
Hazell led the Golden Flashes to their first MAC East Conference title with a perfect 8-0 record in conference play and a school record 11 wins.Kent State is riding a 10-game winning streak, the longest in school history and is currently ranked 17th in the BCS standings and 18th in the latest Associated Press poll. Under Hazell, Kent State has won 15 of its last 17 games as they get ready to play Northern Illinois in the MAC Championship on Friday at Ford Field in Detroit.
