KENT, Ohio - Kent State has agreed to extend baseball coach Scott Stricklin's contract, rewarding him for a trip to the College World Series.
The school said Thursday that it has reached a tentative agreem
The 40-year-old Stricklin just completed his eighth year at Kent State, where he has built one of the Midwest's top programs. The Golden Flashes made it all the way to Omaha, Neb., this year and finished 47-20.
Before the season, Stricklin signed a contract that ran through June 30, 2017.
Stricklin has compiled a 314-170 record at Kent State, winning four Mid-American Conference regular-season titles and five MAC tournaments. He has been named the MAC's top coach three times.
