SAN ANTONIO, TX - The second time was the charm for the Lady Eagles of Ashland in the Division Two national Championship game.
Ashland led from start and defeated Dowling College of NY 71-56. The Eagles were led by two time national player of the year Kari Daugherty who scored 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the winners. Taylor Woods added 20 points on 4 of 7 shooting from beyond the arc to power Ashland.
Ashland finished the year with a school record 37 wins against just one loss. Ashland's 37 wins set an NCAA record for the most wins by a Division two national champ.
