CLEVELAND - For the past five years David Lighty has worn the scarlett and grey, his next step could be in the wine and gold. Lighty, who starred at Ohio State worked out for the Cavaliers Thursday in anticipation of the June 23rd NBA Draft.
Lighty played his high school basketball at local Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School. He then went on to Ohio State where he earned the reputation as a tenacious defender and great leader.
Last time he played at The Q, Lighty had a stellar 7-7 performance from behind the arc scoring 25 points in Ohio State's big win over George Mason in the second round of the NCAA tournament. During his career at Ohio State, Lighty played in more games and took part in more wins than any other player in Buckeye history. He concluded his senior season averaging 12 points-per game and also ranked second on the team in rebounds, assists and steals.
Lighty is projected as an early second-round pick, he has already worked out for San Antonio, Boston, Chicago, and Houston
