CLEVELAND - Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Dion Waiters received his first honor on Friday night. The number four overall pick was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for February.
Waiters average 16 points, three rebounds and three assists for the month. Waiters finished February scoring over 20 points per game against Miami, Chicago and Toronto. Waiters highest point production for the month was 26 points against the Heat on February 24th.
Waiters helped lead the Cavs to their first winning month since 2010. The Cavaliers went 7-5 in February.
Waiters beat out Bradley Beal of the Wizards and Maurice Harkless of the Magic for the honor.
