CLEVELAND - Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao has returned to Friday's game against Milwaukee after sustaining a contusion to his lower left leg.
Varejao, the league's leading rebounder, landed awkwardly while trying to get a rebound in the second quarter. He limped down the floor and was immediately replaced by Tyler Zeller. Varejao sat on the bench briefly and went to the locker room, accompanied by trainer Max Benton. X-rays taken at halftime were negative and Varejao came back in the game early in the third quarter.
Varejao, who is making a strong bid to be on the Eastern Conference All-Star team, is averaging 14.3 points and 14.8 rebounds.
