CINCINNATI - As the Tribe heads into a series with in state rival Cincinnati, the Indians will be without closer Chris Perez for a few games.

Perez has taken a leave of absence from the team after his grandmother passed away in Gainesville, Florida.  The team expects Perez to be out for tonights opening game as well as saturday's game at  Cincinnati.

Perez has been a strong force in the Cleveland bullpen the entire season converting 19 of 20 save opportunities and posting a 2.37 ERA.  Perez is currently tied for third most saves in the American League.

To take Perez's spot on the roster the Indians called up minor league pitcher Josh Judy from AAA Columbus.  With the Clippers Judy had a record of 2-2 with a 3.30 ERA on the season.  Judy made his major league debut on May 22 against the Reds, where he worked one scoreless inning.
