CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Indians place designated hitter Travis Hafner on the paternity list on Wednesday.
Taking Hafner's spot on the 25-man roster is infielder/outfielder Vinny Rottino, who was called up from triple A Columbus.
The 32-year old Rottino was claimed off waivers from the New York Mets back on June 27. In 30 games the Clippers, Rottino is batting .299 with four homers and 32 runs batted in. He's made 14 appearances in the outfield and eight game at first base for Columbus. Rottino will wear number 25 for the Indians.
Hafner must remain on the paternity list for three days. Hafner is eligible to return to the Tribe on Saturday when the Indians take on the division rival Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park in Detroit.
