GOODYEAR, Ariz. - There's a distinct buzz around the Cleveland Indians like there hasn't been in years.

What began with the hiring of manager Terry Francona, continued with player signings, and soon, the Indians were transformed during an ambitious offseason.

Free agents Nick Swisher and Michael Bourn -- two players Cleveland's front office has invested $104 million into over the next four years -- are a part of that makeover. Bourn signed his four-year, $48 million contract and was formally introduced Friday, capping an eventful first week of spring training during which the club also signed notable free agents Daisuke Matsuzaka and Jason Giambi to minor-league contracts.

Bourn joined the Indians in time for their first full-squad workout, which began with one of team's trainers being forced to wear a thong on the field after losing a bet, and Francona participating in several drills.
