CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Indians have added infielder/outfielder Brent Lillibridge to their 25-man roster and designated outfielder Aaron Cunningham for assignment.
Lillibridge, acquired from Boston for a minor leaguer on Tuesday, will fill a utility role for the Indians. The Red Sox picked up Lillibridge as part of the trade that sent Kevin Youkilis to the Chicago White Sox on June 24. Lillibridge is batting .165 with no homers and two RBIs in 59 games this season.
Cunningham drove in the winning run with a squeeze bunt in Tuesday's 3-2 victory over Detroit. He batted .175 with one homer and seven RBIs in 72 games.
