CLEVELAND - For the first time under the dark of night, a daredevil will attempt to walk across a tightrope suspended over Niagara Falls.

Nik Wallenda will try to do something that's never been done before: walk across a cable suspended 173 feet over Niagara Falls once night falls.

The "Megastunts: Highwire Over Niagara Falls Live" will be broadcast on NewsChannel5 at 8 p.m. Friday.

More than 6 million cubic feet of water go over the brink of Niagara Falls every minute during peak hours.

Wallenda had to convince U.S. and Canadian officials to grant him an exception to laws prohibiting stunting.
