COLUMBUS - Vice President Joe Biden will campaign and hold a fundraiser for U.S. Senate Candidate Lee Fisher in Cleveland on June 30.
In a press release, Lee Fisher said he is "excited to have Vice President Biden's support" as he comes into the state next week to raise money for the Democrat Senate candidate.
Biden's visit follows President Obama's recent fundraiser for Fisher's campaign.
In response to the vice president’s planned visit, National Republican Senatorial Committee Press Secretary Amber Marchand said:
“It's not surprising that President Obama and Vice President Biden want to reward Lee Fisher after he enthusiastically endorsed their failed economic agenda. After losing nearly 400,000 jobs on his watch as Ohio's failed jobs czar, Lee Fisher has demonstrated that he will simply serve as another rubberstamp for the Obama Administration's out-of-control economic agenda in Washington. Voters in the Buckeye State deserve better, and that's why we're confident that they will elect Rob Portman to the U.S. Senate this November."
