Sinking floors prompt occupancy limits at University of Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton is setting occupancy limits at university-owned houses after large gatherings made the floors in two homes sink.
The Dayton Daily News ( http://bit.ly/WnMnXd ) reports university officials issued the order Tuesday after 11 students were displaced from two university-owned houses because their floors "shifted a few inches" during large gatherings on Friday night. No injuries were reported.
Fire crews were dispatched to a third university-owned house on Tuesday night following another complaint but the six students there were allowed to stay after the floor was deemed safe.
Students will receive the occupancy limits for their homes based on recommendations from a structural engineer.
