COLUMBUS, Ohio - A spokesman says Ohio's governor has arrived in Switzerland for his planned appearance at the World Economic Forum.
Republican John Kasich arrived Tuesday for the gathering of political, corporate and thought leaders in Davos. He is scheduled to participate in two sessions Wednesday.
The first is an interactive discussion about the future of advanced manufacturing, including reducing a shortage of skilled workers and addressing increased competition for raw materials.
At the second session, titled "Meeting Great Expectations," Kasich is expected to discuss how expectations for the United States are changing in the 21st century.
Spokesman Rob Nichols said the governor also plans to use the trip to market Ohio to gathered business and industry leaders. Key areas include advanced manufacturing, transportation, polymers, and oil and gas.
