SHARONVILLE, Ohio - One Ohio couple had the wedding of their dreams this Valentine's Day by marrying at the place where they first met.
Brenda Sparks and Rick Hohweiler tied the knot at a packed White Castle in Sharonville Thursday afternoon, where they were surrounded by family, friends and fellow customers.
The Green Hills couple won a contest hosted by White Castle and Cincinnati radio station 96ROCK to wed at the fast-food chain, where they first met nearly 29 years ago.
"I just let ‘em know that back in the day we used to bring our cars here and park on the street and just hang out until 3 or 4 in the morning. We did that every Friday and Saturday night and with all of friends and everything and that's what I told them and I guess they liked that and decided to choose us," said Sparks.
Couples have married at White Castle locations on Valentine's Day in the past, but this year was special for Sparks and Hohweiler; they were the only couple in the nation to do so this holiday.
A reverend held a unity sand ceremony for the couple, as the pair was serenaded by a soloist while standing under an arch decorated with flowers.
White Castle catered the wedding and 96ROCK provided the photography and the limo that whisked away the newly weds following the ceremony.
