COLUMBUS, Ohio - Authorities say four people are hospitalized in stable condition after they were shot while inside a van that was stopped at an intersection in Columbus.
The Columbus Division of Police says the van was stopped at the intersection just before midnight when another vehicle drove up beside it. At least one person in that vehicle opened fire on the four people in the van, striking all of them.
WSYX-TV reports the van's driver was able to drive off and stopped a few blocks away, where medics and police responded. All four people were transported to Grant Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition.
Police tell the station they have a description of the vehicle that the shots came from but are not yet releasing that information.
An investigation is under way, and a motive wasn't immediately known. No names or other details were released.
