COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus police say they are searching for a man they fired shots at as he was fleeing the scene of a home invasion.

The police department said officers fired at the man early Friday after he displayed a handgun. He wasn't hit. Officers found the discarded gun in the back yard of the home.

The officers had responded to a report of a home-invasion robbery on the city's south side at about 3:30 a.m.

Nobody was hurt.
