ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University police and Athens police are looking for a man who allegedly kidnapped and raped a female student in April.
Students have received an Athens campus crime alert email about the rape that allegedly occurred April 8.
Police received a report from a female student Wednesday that she was walking along Richland Avenue in Athens last spring when a vehicle stopped near her at approximately 4 a.m.
According to the OUPD website, the student said the driver threatened her with a knife before forcing her in the vehicle, driving her to a nearby area and raping her. The incident happened off campus.
The suspect is only described by the report as a man with average height and build.
Police did not offer information about the delay in the reporting of the incident.
