TOLEDO, Ohio - The empire struck back during a bank robbery in Toledo on Wednesday
A man wearing a Darth Vader mask from the Star Wars movie series walked into the Huntington Bank on Monroe Street in Toledo just after 3 p.m.
But instead of a light saber, this Darth Vader was armed with a semi-automatic pistol, FBI Special Agent Stephen Anthony said.
The man demanded money from the bank tellers and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the FBI and Toledo Police Department. The Skywalker-wannabe then made his getaway on a BMX bike. Thankfully, authorities said no injuries were reported.
The robber didn’t have a cape, but was clad in black sweatpants and a black hooded-sweatshirt. Police said he was also carrying a black backpack and was about 20 to 25 years old.
Anyone with information about the robbery should call the FBI at 419-243-6122 or Toledo Police Crime Stopper Program at 419-255-1111.
