COLUMBUS, Ohio - All Ohio residents are now eligible for savings on prescription drugs through the state's Best Rx program.
State officials announced last week that the free, state-endorsed drug discount has opened to residents regardless of age or income.
There is no waiting period and no membership fee. Ohioans 60-plus, and adults 18 to 59 with disabilities, already have access to the benefit through their Golden Buckeye card. Other participants can now sign up online at www.OhioBestRx.org, by phone at 1-866-923-7879.
Seniors and other qualifying low-income families and individuals have been eligible for the program since 2004, saving more than $56 million on over 3.5 million prescriptions.
The program is administered through a public-private partnership between the Ohio Department of Aging and Envision Pharmaceutical Services.
