COLUMBUS, Ohio - A death certificate indicates a Virginia man was the victim of a deadly scheme that authorities say began with a Craigslist ad for a phony Ohio farm job.
The certificate shows 51-year-old David Pauley of Norfolk died of a gunshot wound to the head and was found in a wooded area along a road in southeast Ohio's Noble County.
Investigators there said one man lured to the nonexistent job was found dead last week, and a second was shot but fled. The FBI said Tuesday a third man is missing.
A man and a teen are in custody, but authorities have revealed few details because of a gag order.
The Noble County sheriff has said it's unclear how long the ad was online or whether there were other victims.
