COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Coal Association has joined with four other state coal groups in a billboard campaign highlighting what the coalition says are anti-coal positions by President Barack Obama's administration.
The Ohio group says the campaign that began Monday features billboards containing quotes from Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu. The group said in a release that the quotes show the officials' disdain for American coal.
Obama has said he proposes an energy strategy that embraces traditional sources such as oil and coal, along with natural gas, nuclear power and renewable sources such as wind, solar and hydropower.
The other groups involved in the billboard campaign are in Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
