CINCINNATI - Police say they have charged the driver of a car that struck and killed a 3-year-old boy with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Cincinnati police report that 3-year-old Rodriguez Taylor was on a sidewalk with his mother and two siblings around 4:30 a.m. Monday when 35-year-old Sheba Basabose of Cincinnati failed to control her car and drove left of center, striking a utility pole and the family.
Police say the boy died at a hospital. His mother and a 1-year-old in a stroller were hospitalized for treatment of injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. A 5-year-old was not hurt.
A message seeking comment was left at Basabose's home. She was not injured.
Media outlets report the mother was walking her family to a baby sitter.
