Sick of getting constant updates from Facebook friends who you haven’t talked to in years, or maybe don’t know at all?

Well, then today is your day.

Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has declared Wednesday “National Unfriend Day,” or “NUD.”

"NUD is the international day when all Facebook users shall protect the sacred nature of friendship by cutting out any 'friend fat' on their pages occupied by people who are not truly their friends," according to the show's website.

As part of the event, TIME.com has released a list of 10 reasons why you should unfriend someone.

But unfriend at your own risk, it could always come back at you.
