CLEVELAND - A top aide for former Cuyahoga County Auditor Frank Russo pleaded guilty in federal court Monday for his role in the corruption probe.
Samir Mohammad pleaded guilty to five counts.
Mohammad could face 20 years, a $250,000 fine and three years probation on counts of conspiracy, extortion and tampering with a witness. He could face five years on counts conspiracy to commit bribery, and making a false statement to law enforcement.
Mohammad is accused of bribing former County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora by paying $20,000 for a 2003 gambling trip to a casino in Ontario, Canada in return for a top, county-level job.
He will now be sentenced on Jan. 4.
Mohammad was the last of 50 defendants who have either pled guilty or were convicted in the probe.
