AKRON, Ohio - Federal prosecutors are fighting a request by a key figure in the Cuyahoga County corruption probe who has asked to be released from prison while awaiting sentencing.
Michael Gabor, who was convicted with codefendant Jimmy Dimora last march on corruption charges, argued that he is not a danger to the community and is requesting a hearing on his release .

Federal prosecutors argue that Gabor should continue to be detained without a further hearing.
In a motion filed Monday, prosecutors said Gabor "has not established by clear and convincing evidence that he does not pose a flight risk and is not a danger to the community."
Gabor was convicted last March on fraud, bribery and obstruction of justice charges.
