CLEVELAND - January 1983 and filming of "A Christmas Story" is under way, but winter is not cooperating.

Snow making machines have been brought in from Brandywine to West 11th and Rowley Avenue to help Mother Nature look a bit more wintery.

WEWS reporter Obie Shelton does a fine job describing the winter wonderland special effects had created.

Obie tells us it took the entire previous night to make the house and surroundings look as it does.

It looks to me as if they were shooting the Christmas morning scene as well as the closing credits scene.

Obie teases the upcoming forecast for the rest of Cleveland from our meteorologist Dan Dobrowolski.

Two other clips in the video player are filming on Public Square and in Higbee's.

Enjoy.
