NEW YORK - A grand jury in New York City has charged a man with leaving the scene of an accident that killed a pregnant woman and her husband. Their baby died a day later.
Julio Acevedo was indicted Wednesday. The Brooklyn district attorney's office says further charges are possible as the investigation continues.
He's accused of speeding down a Brooklyn street and crashing into a car carrying 21-year-olds Nachman and Raizy Glauber . Their premature son was delivered by cesarean section before he died.
Acevedo was arrested in Bethlehem, Pa., about 80 miles from New York, after a friend brokered his surrender.
Defense attorney Kathleen Julian says Acevedo feels terrible about what happened, but it was an accident.
