IRVING, Texas - As leaders of the Boy Scouts of America ponder whether to move away from a national no-gays membership policy, supporters of the longstanding ban plan to rally and pray outside.

Jonathan Saenz (synz), president of Texas Values, says the "Save Our Scouts" prayer vigil and rally will be held Wednesday morning outside the BSA's national headquarters in Irving, Texas.

At a closed-door meeting, the Boy Scouts' governing board is considering whether to ease the ban on gay scouts and scoutmasters by letting local troop sponsors decide the matter for themselves.

Saenz says people at the rally will pray that BSA leaders "do the right thing and keep the policy that they've had for years."

Some gay advocates consider the proposed policy change inadequate, arguing that no troop should be allowed to exclude gays.
