AURORA, Colo. - Christian Bale is meeting with victims of Friday's mass shooting at an Aurora hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Bale plays Batman in the new movie "The Dark Knight Rises," the film that was playing when a gunman killed 12 people and wounded almost 60 at an Aurora movie theater Friday.
One of the victims who survived the shooting, Carey Rottman, posted two photos of himself and Bale in an Aurora Medical Center hospital room.
Rottman wrote on his Facebook page that he was shot in the leg during the Batman movie and was taken to the hospital in a police squad car.
Despite the injury, Rottman seems to be in good humor writing, "I am definitely feeling nothing but love and am ready to get started on this recovery! By the way, first 30 minutes of the dark knight were SICK!!"
Rottman has also posted photos of himself with Gov. John Hickenlooper and several members of the Denver Broncos.
Sunday, Rottman wrote, "Just got off the phone with my boy Payton Manning. What a great great guy. Thank you for the warm wishes Payton, I'll be rooting for you baller!!!"
Rottman also posted a photo of himself and a woman tagged Stephanie Rodriguez who Rottman calls "My hero."
"This is the amazing young woman who made a turnakit [sic] for my leg out of her belt after I was shot. Her bravery is simply inspiring. I cannot thank you enough for helping a stranger in need! You are a true guardian angel!" Rottman wrote.
Suspect James Holmes, 24, is being held without bond in connection with the shooting.
'The Dark Knight Rises' is the third installment in the Batman series.
When he got word of the shooting, Bale said his heart went out to the victims.
In a statement released Saturday, Bale says, "Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."
