YUMA, AZ - Two people attempting to enter the U.S. in southern Arizona early Tuesday ended up fleeing to Mexico when their vehicle became stuck on top of the border fence.
Border Patrol Agent Spencer Tippets said agents from Yuma Sector's Yuma Station were patrolling the Imperial Sand Dunes area when they discovered a silver Jeep Cherokee trying to make it into the U.S. using a ramp set up on the 14-foot border fence just after midnight.
The Jeep became “high centered” at the top of the ramp and the two people fled into Mexico.
The vehicle and ramp were seized by the agents.
Citizens can report suspicious activity and remain anonymous by calling the Border Patrol at 1-866-999-8727.
